We are incredibly proud to celebrate our athletes and coaches who represented Team Alberta North at the 2026 Arctic Winter Games, held March 8–15 in Whitehorse. This incredible international event brings together athletes from across the North to compete, connect, and celebrate sport and culture—and this year, our athletes rose to the occasion in every way. From powerful performances to unwavering team spirit, their efforts truly embodied excellence both on and off the competition floor.
Special congratulations to Bristelle and Élise, who helped Team Alberta North secure a silver ulu in the team competition—an outstanding achievement on an international stage. Individually, both athletes continued to shine, with Bristelle earning a second-place finish on bars and Élise capturing first place on beam. Their results are a reflection of their dedication, skill, and composure under pressure, and we are thrilled to see their hard work recognized on the Arctic stage.
We also want to recognize our four coaches who attended the Games as part of the Arctic sports program. Their leadership, commitment, and passion for athlete development were evident throughout the week. Not only did they support their athletes in competition, but they also demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship and determination, representing their community with pride. We are so grateful for the impact they continue to make—congratulations to all on an unforgettable Arctic Winter Games experience!
